CLIENT COMMUNICATION HELPS PROPERITY PROSPER
Jacqueline Endlich, AIF®, CRPC®, of Prosperity, LLC, in Danbury, Connecticut, grew revenue by 42 percent last year, in large part by listening to clients and delivering what they needed.

After working at a larger firm where revenue was the primary focus, Jacqueline and her partners took a leap of faith and brought their client-centered philosophy to Prosperity. In the nearly seven years since, they have built a firm that thrives on the tenets of personal attention, strong interpersonal relationships, cost-effective and suitable products, and fee transparency.

But it hasn't always been smooth sailing. In the beginning, Jacqueline says, “we were very lucky that the market cooperated” as they gathered clients from previous relationships and promoted their new firm via e-mail, prospect events, and even TV advertising. But after two years of steady growth, “the bottom fell out.” A manageable client load allowed the firm to adjust portfolios in anticipation of the downturn, but they, like many advisors, underestimated the depth of the correction. Although the firm had always been focused on the client, Jacqueline says they recognized that they needed to make “a concerted effort” to step up the quantity and quality of client contact in an effort to ensure that clients understood what was happening. As Jacqueline explains, “Clients appreciated our down-to-earth suggestions and knew that we were in this together—that we didn't shy away from the tough conversations.”

After the dust settled and the recovery started, Jacqueline confides that, unsurprisingly, she, her partners, and her clients were “volatility weary.” It was at this point that they started to investigate tools that could help firm up clients' income streams, no matter what the market was doing. “Annuities with living benefit riders were the answer for many of our clients whom we knew would need income somewhere down the road.”

To sum it up, Jacqueline says it's the work she and her partners do to translate financial jargon into plain English that has helped engender a strong sense of trust with clients. And she firmly believes that “being able to personally pay attention to each and every client—during good times and bad—pays off.”



PROSPERITY PARTICIPATES IN DOWN SYNDROME FUNDRAISER

The mission of the Association, started by a collection of parents in the 1980’s, is to improve education for students with Down Syndrome, provide support to new parents, increase community awareness of Down Syndrome and enhance employment opportunities for people with Down Syndrome.
